Shaun L. Gabbidon is a criminologist and the author of many articles and books that typically focus on the areas of racial and ethnic issues in criminology. ==Life== Gabbidon's parents moved to England from Jamaica in the 1960s, and Gabbidon was born there. In the 1970s they moved to the United States. He obtained a doctorate in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has held various academic positions, including teaching at Coppin State University and the University of Baltimore. He was a fellow at Harvard University's W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for Afro-American Research, an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Center for African American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and a Professor of Criminal Justice in the School of Public Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg. Gabbidon is editor of ''Race and Justice: An International Journal''. He is a member of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. He has received numerous academic awards. These include the Coramae R. Mann Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Criminology and the W.E.B. DuBois Award from the Western Society of Criminology.
